U.S. Army Nixes Velcro in Favor of Buttons!
As reported in a recent USA Today Article, the U.S. Army has decided to replace Velcro on uniform pants with buttons. The stick-ability of Velcro is compromised by sand of the Afghanistan desert and won’t keep the pockets shut reliably. Of 2,700 soldiers surveyed by the Army, 60% of them preferred buttons on their cargo pockets. Only 11% chose Velcro.
